Where the Land Rises

Where the Land Rises commemorates the legacy of the volcanic eruption of Eldfell on the Icelandic island of Heimaey in 1973. It examines how this sudden geological trauma to the order of existence transformed both the island’s geography and the psyche of the people who call this landscape home; inhabitants who live in the space between a landscape that no longer exists and one still in the process of becoming.
